We made some adjustments==cut off about 3 1/2" from the pipe stems, and then put the golf cart wheels back on. The result was...well, MAGICAL!
Unfortunately I pressed the picture button instead of the video button on my camera when she first started to use it--still--what a day! I'm so proud of my girl!
Today was a GREAT day on the beach...Elena got to move about freely in packed sand, wet sand, little tidepools--even up to our shade tent in deep sand (she made it most of the way). Another bonus is I got a break--carrying E is hard work. It was wonderful to walk with Elena down to the surf--and not have to carry her. Just a super great day.

I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU? I HAVE THE SAME TYPE OF CP AS ELENA.. I TOO WALK ON MY TOES... CURRENTLY, I AM RIGHT UP ON THEM AND WE ARE TRYING TO MAKE THINGS BETTER WALKING BALNCE ECT.. I HAD TENDON LENGTHING WHEN I WAS 12 AND NOW MY TENDONS HAVE SHORTEN AGAIN!
DOES ELENA EVER SAY THAT HER TOES ARE SORE AFTER WALKING? THEY TEKK ME MINE ARE SORE BECAUSE I AM PUTTING TOO MUCH PRESSURE ON THEM..
AFO'S HOW DO YOU HELP ELENA TOLERATE AFO'S IN VERY HOT WEATHER? CURRENTLY WE ARE HAVING A HEAT WAVE AND SICE I HAVE TO WEAR THEM I AM TRYING TO WEAR THE SHORTER SOCKS BECAUSE YESTERDAY MY FEET WERE BURNING JUST GOING A SHORT DISTANCE..

I seriously hope you are able to produce and market these! I am so impressed. My son is going to need one of these someday, as he loves the beach! He is only 2 right now and still not getting the hang of the walker on regular land, but just wait!
You are a genius! Out of curiousity what was the final cost and measurements of the final product? We are going to Florida in October and my son will be almost 2. He has the hang of a walker, but he is already over 30 lbs so carrying him is impossible. I'm very interested in making him one. He doesn't have CP (yet) but he has extreme hypertonia in his legs so his gait is very much so like E's. I would really appreciate any info you could give me. Thanks! and GREAT JOB!!
